Swing into summer with City’s school holiday line-up

14 December 2018
Parents can sigh in relief – the City’s action-packed school holiday program has arrived to keep boredom at bay.
Acting Mayor Donna Gates said the City’s school holiday program had plenty of options to keep kids of all ages entertained these summer holidays.
“From outdoor adventures in our parks to indoor activities at our libraries and community centres, there is something for everyone,” she said.
“Take your pick from active and healthy fun events, social bike rides, Christmas events to movies under the stars and more.
“All activities are free or low cost.
“It’s a great opportunity for Gold Coast kids to step away from their devices and enjoy our beautiful city.”
Highlights from this summer’s school holiday program include:
- Active & Healthy
o Get out and about and enjoy our city whilst keeping fit and having fun. The Active & Healthy Holiday Program has so many free or low cost interactive activities to choose from all across the city. With skateboarding, splashastic fun, obstacles gone mad, kayaking, water wars, Gecko Summer Splash events and more, there’s something for everyone.
- Naturally GC
o Swap screen time for green time  and embrace the NaturallyGC program. It’s designed to connect kids with nature and encourage outdoor play by exploring our city’s diverse natural environment. The interactive workshops cover a range of environmentally-based activities including guided bushwalks, tree planting, wildlife shows, coastal education and more.
- Community Centres
