Residents urged to share their priorities for the city

11 January 2016

Gold Coast Mayor Tom Tate has launched his third annual People’s Budget survey.

“I have made it clear that the people of our city will shape the key spending from our annual $1.1 billion budget. That has occurred for the last two financial years and today, I launch the annual budget survey for 2016-17,’’ he said.

“We want to find out what Gold Coasters think are the top priorities for our city.

“This is part of my broader push to make us the most engaged community in Australia so get on line and have your say.’’

The survey asks respondents to answer questions about the City’s road network, parks, economy and amenities and seeks input on what key local issue residents want fixed.

Residents can make suggestions during a series of city-wide roadshows.

The survey can also be completed online at gchaveyoursay.com.au with the consultation until 31 January.

“This is about redirecting the funding we receive via rates and fees, so people can enjoy the services they expect at a price they can afford,’’ he said.
